In data recovery, the data on the disk platter and the hard drive ROM BIOS chip are the only components we are concerned with, all of the other hardware can be replaced.
We will remove the head & platter assembly from the damaged drive/motor housing and transplant them it into another drive/motor housing assembly.
We will replace the PCB circuit board if necessary. If this is done, We will have to remove the hard drive ROM BIOS chip from the original PCB (from the old drive) and solder it to the replacement PCB in order for the drive to work.
DO NOT TOSS THE OLD PCB BOARD! Your drive won't work without it! It will cost you around $1,000s for a large data recovery firm to create a new ROM BIOS chip calibrated to match your particular drive. We cannot do this!
Once we are satisfied with the reliability of the replacement parts, the data recovery can begin.
