The computer was never designed to know what to do
with a dying hard disk drive. The 'hard disk drive', abbreviated "HDD" is
a metal box with spinning platters inside that hold data magnetically.
With this spinning-type hard disk drive, if for instance a read/write
head is damaged and hanging loosely, the computer has no way of knowing
this and will drag the head across a rotating disk, scratching the data
off in the process everytime you plug it in! Computer repair shops may
not necessarily know this and will plug a dying hard drive into a computer
anyway, thus loosing more data.
We don't use computers to diagnose a bad drive. We only use
data recovery hardware and drive imaging firmware. Our hard
drive imaging hardware will fully interrogate the drive's firmware & hardware
condition before turning it on. It can detect damaged heads & other
faulty components while the drive is off, while a standard computer cannot.
A standard computer will just keep dragging the broken head accross a
spinning platter while trying to read from it -- ad infinitum!
The more you run this drive the more you ruin it and the less chance you have of getting 100% of your data back.
Data Loss Warning!

STOP RUNNING THIS DRIVE NOW!
